Cross-country
Cross country teams represent the school at all ages, and the sport is a games option in years 11 to 13. KES teams compete in the Birmingham Schools Cross Country League. Individual runners regularly achieve high rankings in the Birmingham Schools' Individual Championship.In recent years, Tim Griffiths has won, and then retained, the Birmingham Individual League Title beating the record times for all of the courses along the way. In the 2011 Birmingham BUPA Half Marathon, an open entry event which was won by Haile Gebrselassie. Tim came 24th in a time of 1hr 14 mins, an astonishing feat for a schoolboy.
