** We are now accepting applications from state-maintained primary schools interested in sending four Year 4 children to the 2017 King Edward's Summer School which will run from 10 - 12 July. Please fill in our form if you are interested. **
The inaugural King Edward's Summer School took place in July 2015. This brought 90 gifted children from disadvantaged backgrounds into the school for a week of activities, including Reading, Writing, Maths, History and Practical Science. The summer school is run by teachers from King Edward's School along with a team of KES boys who act as mentors for the children who attended.
In July 2016 the summer school attracted 135 children from state primary schools around Birmingham and featured in an article in the Daily Telegraph. A programme and a sample report from one of the children attached below.
The summer school is very generously sponsored by the Mac Bevan Charitable Trust, by King Edward's School and by The Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham, and is free to all chosen participants.
