On Saturday 6th March, KES entered two teams of eight boys in the Birmingham Schools\' U14 Invitation Quickplay Tournament, which was held at Windsor High School in Halesowen. For some of the boys taking part, it was their first taste of competitive chess for KES.  Each player took part in five rounds and at the end of the tournament, the A team, captained by Richard Miller, won the \'Home\' team trophy and the B team, captained by Adam Malik, won the B team trophy. In addition, despite the presence of Nottingham High School, one of the best chess schools in England, Arun Dhesi, Hugh Lilburn and Richard Miller all won their respective board prizes.
