City Guru speaks at KES

06 May 2010

On the day that the Sixth Form arrived at school in fancy dress to raise money for the Cot Fund, Michael McLintock, the Chief Executive of the UK\'s oldest Unit Trust, M&G, came to give a lecture. Despite addressing an audience including a Roman centurion, a monk and a flowerpot man, Mr. McLintock gave a serious talk to the large crowd about how the City works, day-to-day life, and, most fascinatingly, a view of the recent financial crisis from the inside, which Mr Mclintock described as \"terrifying.\" A round of questioning followed, with queries ranging from macro-economic policy to the ever predictable \'what is the quickest way to reach the most highly paid jobs?\' Nevertheless, a thought provoking afternoon that left no-one disappointed.
