Science

Events in 2017-18

Our Science workshops have been very popular and we are now fully booked for the winter and spring terms.  We hope to release some dates for summer in due course.

  • This year we are running our 'Ask a Scientist' sessions on Friday afternoons, where a group of King Edward's boys will visit primary schools to answer their science questions and give demonstrations.

Previous events

  • Our annual science quiz has seen teams of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils come to compete against each other for the prestigious KES science shield. It was won by Moseley Church of England School in 2012 and 2014, and Monkspath Primary School in 2013.
  • Four boys from King Edward's School, accompanied by colourful pictures and quizzes, visited primary schools on Friday afternoons to talk to pupils about astronomy.
  • Four boys in Year 11 devised a workshop on 'forensic science' that was delivered to primary pupils on Friday afternoons. We hope to repeat these workshops in the future.
