1. Free hockey and rugby coaching in the winter terms
During the winter we offer a programme of coaching for your children (Year 4 or Year 5) in rugby and hockey. Courses usually last for five sessions, but we can customise sessions if necessary. These sessions take place on Monday or Friday mornings. Coaching will take place on our dedicated hockey astro or rugby pitch at Eastern Road, Edgbaston. We would generally combine sessions in both sports with the same children into a morning, to make the most of the travel time. All you have to do is to be able to transport a class (or two) to our sports pitches at Eastern Road.
2. Free cricket / athletics / rounders coaching in the summer term
We would be able to put together a programme of coaching for your children (Year 4 or Year 5) in cricket, athletics or rounders during the summer term. Courses usually last for five sessions, but we can customise sessions if necessary. Pupils will be baselined, and evidence on progress will be collated and returned to you. All coaching must be done in the mornings (before 12pm). Coaching will take place on our dedicated all-weather nets or cinder athletics track on Eastern Road. We would generally combine two or three sessions with the same children into a morning, to make the most of the travel time. All you have to do is to be able to transport a class (or two) to our sports pitches at Eastern Road.
3. Free use of our swimming pool
We would be delighted to let primary schools use our swimming pool free of charge when it is not being used for PE teaching during the summer term. This would enable lettings during most mornings in May, June and early July. You would need to transport your children to our swimming pool, and you would also need to provide a qualified lifeguard.
4. Free use of our athletics track for your sports day
Primary schools are able to use our cinder athletics track and field for their sports day. Again, this facility will be available to external organisations in the morning only.
5. Sport CPD for primary teachers
We often offer professional development courses for primary school teachers on how to coach young children in sports such as netball or cricket. In May we will be running a cricket course for primary teachers in conjunction with Warwickshire Cricket Club. Keep an eye on the professional development page, our Twitter feed or our mailing list for more details.
