KES has a long tradition of attracting pupils from a very wide geographical area and it is very fortunate in the range of public transport, train and bus, that makes the school accessible. So, boys are able to come easily from Lichfield and Wolverhampton, from Walsall and Bromsgrove, from Solihull and Sutton.
The school is situated near many bus routes (the 63, 98, X61, X64 and 144 buses stop within 200 yards of the school) and it is within easy walking distance of the University railway station. The School has dedicated Travel West Midland buses 885 and 886 (shared with King Edward VI High School for Girls) from Solihull and Walsall.

It may be useful to have a trial run on public transport before the start of term. It is also useful for a boy to know of alternative ways home in case he misses a school bus or one of the services is disrupted.
Cycling: a number of boys cycle to school and bikes can be locked safely at school in bike racks. It is vital that all who ride bikes wear a helmet and that bikes have good lights front and back in the winter months. We would also recommend the use of a high-visibility jacket.
