Allen, Frank Reginald

Midshipman ▪ Royal Naval Voluntary Reserve

Frank Reginald Allen, born 14th August 1898, was admitted to King Edward’s School on 20th September 1910, as was his brother, John Griffin. Son of Richard and Ann Allen of Highbury, Rowley Regis, he previously attended Rowley Regis Council School.

He enlisted in the Royal Naval Voluntary Reserve, and was posted to HMS Ebro. He was seriously wounded on 16th October 1915 in the North Sea and died of wounds three days later at Lerwick Naval Hospital, aged seventeen. He reached the rank of Midshipman.

He is buried in his home town of Rowley Regis, Staffordshire.
