Brown, Horace Newland

Horace Newland Brown, born on 27th August 1882, was admitted to King Edward’s School in September 1897. His father James was a merchant, and the family lived at 8, Highfield Road, Moseley. Horace had two sisters, Constance and Maud. At the time of the 1911 Census, he was working as a bank clerk. There is very little indeed known about Horace, at School or otherwise.

Horace enlisted as a Private Soldier in the 5th Royal Warwickshire Regiment in 1915. He died on 19th October 1916 in France. He is buried in Laventie Military Cemetery, France, and is also commemorated on St Agnes’ Church Memorial, Moseley.
