Distinguished Service Order (Mar. 8, Oct. 4, 1919).

For conspicuous gallantry and good leadership in command of his battalion during operations from October 14-16, 1918, in the Moorseele-Gulleghem-Heule Sector. His skilful leading enabled the battalion to reach its final objective in face of determined resistance and over difficult ground. After making a personal reconnaissance he again led his leading companies, and cleared the ground to the Heule area. He did good work.
