CPD for primary school teachers

Each year we host continuing professional development (CPD) training courses for primary school teachers. The types of courses offered include support for changes in curriculum, requests for help from primary schools on a particular issue, and development of teaching techniques.

Previous topics covered range from Mastery in Writing, delivered by the Educational Development Trust, which was designed to reflect the new National Curriculum and Assessment without Levels; workshops run by the Ogden Trust to support the teaching of science in primary classrooms; and techniques for teaching Shakespeare in association with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. We also offer professional development courses for primary school teachers on how to coach young children in sports such as netball or cricket.

The CPD courses have been well-received and we have accommodated almost 200 teachers from over 90 primary schools on the most popular courses. A small cost is applicable for the CPD courses to cover the cost of the training.

Primary Cricket CPD

In partnership with Warwickshire Cricket Board, we will be hosting a day of Primary Cricket CPD on Monday, 23 May 2022 from 9.30am to 2.00pm. This training is for any primary school staff who want to develop the skills necessary to run their own cricket sessions.

The training will cost £20 per delegate. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

To reserve a place on the training course, click the button below and complete the registration form. We will then get in touch with you to confirm your place and send payment details.

Primary Physics Professional Learning Course

Our next CPD event will be a Primary Physics Professional Learning Course on Thursday, 19 May 2022 from 8.55am to 2.30pm. The training will be delivered by The Ogden Trust and take place at King Edward’s School.

The day will consist of four hands-on workshops, each focusing on the teaching of science within a primary classroom and using methods that are easy to implement. English, maths and cross-curricular themes will be incorporated in the training.

The event is open to all primary teachers, but would be particularly useful for science coordinators.

The training, which is subsidised by King Edward’s School and The Ogden Trust, will cost £20 per delegate. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Bookings for this event are now closed.
