At King Edward’s School and King Edward VI High School for Girls, every year we look to organise an author visit, specifically for primary schools to attend. The author visit is aimed at pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 4 – 6).
Previous authors to have visited include Matt Dickinson (Popcorn-eating Squirrels of the World Unite!), Peter Bunzl (The Cogheart Adventures series), Joe Craig (Jimmy Coates series), Markus Alexander (Charlie Keeper series), Caroline Lawrence (The Roman Mysteries series), and Pete Johnson (How to Train Your Parents) and Karl Nova (Rhythm and Poetry).
On Thursday 19 October 2023, author and prolific writer, Tom Palmer, will be joining us at the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre. He is the author of 57 children’s books and 16 books for Barrington Stoke including six award-winning historical fiction titles and three Puffin football series, Football Academy, Foul Play and The Squad. Foul Play was shortlisted for the 2009 Blue Peter Book Award.
If you would like to sign up for places, please register your interest below. Please note we will do our best to accommodate the number of children you would like to attend but may be in touch to see if you have flexibility with the number of requested places in order to make the event accessible to as many primary schools as possible.
