Dr Jane Evans

Deputy Head (Academic)

Dr Evans is Deputy Head (Academic) at King Edward’s School. Before this she worked at Westminster School for ten years, as a Biology teacher, then Head of Year, and for the final five years as Head of Biology. Prior to retraining as a teacher she worked at UCL’s Institute of Ophthalmology where she gained a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience, and then continued as a postdoctoral researcher investigating the causative gene for a common form of inherited retinal dystrophy. Her undergraduate degree in Genetics sparked an interest and passion for Genetics and Evolution more generally, which she continues to indulge as much as possible.
