The eighth instalment of this series of academic lectures named after the School’s most well-known alumnus, JRR Tolkien. Previous speakers include Jonathan Coe, Sir Hew Strachan and Alfred Brendel. Sir Simon Wessely is a professor of psychological medicine at King’s College, London, noted for his work on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and military psychiatry, and was President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists from 2014-2017.
