The Fifth Year Leadership boys recently embarked on an exciting trip to Aztec Adventure, where they put their skills to the test in a range of challenging physical and problem-solving activities. The day was packed with teamwork, strategy, and a whole lot of fun!
The morning began with the crate stacking challenge, a demanding test of balance, coordination, and communication. A number of groups achieved an impressive height of 14 crates. Following that, Jacob’s Ladder challenged the teams’ agility and cooperation, with many successfully reaching the top in under seven minutes.
In the afternoon, the activities moved to the water, where teamwork was crucial in building and paddling rafts. Team leaders Joel and Ali took their leadership roles seriously, giving motivating team talks before construction began. Interestingly, both teams opted for different raft-building styles. Oje proved to be a master at knot-tying, nearly single-handedly constructing his team’s raft.
Once in the water, the real test began. Joel’s team faced a few challenges with stability, resulting in early casualties as Amanile, Dylan, and Zain took an unexpected dip! However, their spirits remained high, and they continued to enjoy the experience.
Overall, the trip was a fantastic opportunity for the Fifth Year boys to develop their leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Their proactive attitude and enthusiasm were evident throughout the day, making it excellent preparation for their transition into leading the Leadership Option next year. A great day out was had by all, and the future looks bright for these upcoming leaders!
