Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

The SEND Department works collaboratively with the leadership team, pastoral staff and teachers, to provide provision for pupils with SEND.

We are experienced in supporting pupils with a range of general or specific difficulties, and medical or emotional problems, which can be temporary or long-term. We pride ourselves on getting to know pupils well, so that we can fully understand their needs, in order for them to access the curriculum, achieve their potential and enjoy all the opportunities of school life, making any appropriate reasonable adjustments required.

Mrs Smyth and Miss Bird

Mrs Smyth is the school’s qualified SENDCo and oversees the day-to-day provision for pupils with SEND. Miss Bird, the school’s Learning Support Assistant, supports boys across all year groups in a variety of different ways.

The SEND Department is located in Vince House, with a dedicated SEND Space, which provides a quiet place for pupils who require it, during study periods, recess, lunchtime, and before and after school. Regular access to Vince House is granted by the SEND Department, but pupils are welcome to drop in if they would like to speak to Miss Bird or Mrs Smyth regarding a learning need.
