The best way to find out more about King Edward’s School and experience the buzz of school life is to join us at one of our Open Days.
Whole School Open Days
Saturday 12 March 2022, 10.00am-12.30pm
Monday 20 June 2022, 6.00pm-7.45pm
There are three Open Days, one in each term, when parents and boys have the opportunity to look around the School, meet pupils, staff and current parents, and hear from the Chief Master.
Existing pupils will act as your tour guide as you visit academic departments, sport, music, drama and also see some of the societies in action.
You can also view our Virtual Open Day to get a glimpse of what life is like at King Edward’s School.
Sixth Form Open Evening
Thursday 9 December 2021, 5.30-8.00pm
Our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 9 December provides the opportunity to find out more about life in the Sixth Form and studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma. This event is for pupils who are considering joining us in the Sixth Form, as well as our current Year 11s and their families.
Make the most of your time at our Open Evening by:
Attending talks and presentations
In the keynote presentation, you will hear from Dr Katy Ricks, Chief Master, Henry Coverdale, Deupty Head (Upper School), Andrew Petrie, IB Director, and a current Sixth Form student. You can also attend optional seminars on our higher education and careers guidance, and the support available for applications to US and international universities.
Finding out more about IB subjects
You can talk to our IB subject teachers and current Sixth Form students in classrooms, studios and labs around the school. External visitors will be “buddied-up” with a current pupil, who will be able to show you around and answer any questions about life in the Sixth Form.
Exploring the IB Core
Information on the IB Core (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and CAS – Creativity, Activity, Service) will be available in the Sixth Form Common Room.
Viewing our facilities
As well as being able to speak to subject teachers in their teaching facilities, you will be able to visit the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre where the keynote presentation will be held, and view the Andrew Brode Sports Centre whilst finding out more about sport at King Edward’s from 5-6pm.
