Friday Afternoons

Friday afternoons at KES feel rather different to other days of the week.

Not only does the school day finish earlier (at 3.20pm), but many year groups take part in activities outside of the usual academic curriculum.

From September 2025, Friday afternoons will be used exclusively for games training and fixtures for our Year 7s: a very welcome end to the week for everyone.

From Year 10 upwards, boys choose from a range of activities specially designed to develop not only their interests and skills, but also their personalities and character. Options include our Combined Cadet Force, Leadership Programme, Stage Crew and opportunities to engage in Service learning, including Partnerships. Service often involves boys working within and beyond school on projects that benefit the people around us, and reflects our commitment to helping them to become fully rounded, empathetic leaders of the future.

Co-curricular activities for boys in Years 8 and 9 are spread throughout the week.
