Christmas at KES all wrapped up!

This December, King Edward’s School came alive with festive cheer as we celebrated Christmas in style, wrapping up the year with joy!

From the magical snow day to our Christmas card competition, the season was packed with events that brought our community together. Highlights included the heartwarming KE Community Christmas, the dazzling Steinway Concert, KES Carol Service and the musical treats at our Christmas Concerts. Pupils and staff also embraced the Christmas spirit with initiatives like the Toys4Bham collection, the spirited Teacher vs Pupils Christmas Debate, Christmas Jumper Day and the Christmas Fayre. All leading up to a joyful Christmas assembly at the end of term. Join us as we look back on the memorable moments that made this season truly special.

Netflix movie: 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion

Exciting news! On Thursday 12 December, the BBC One Show featured the incredible true story behind the upcoming Netflix movie The Six Triple Eight, starring Kerry Washington and Oprah Winfrey. This was a remarkable opportunity to learn about the story of the 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion – an all-female, predominantly African-American unit stationed at KES during the Second World War.

Two Cities Book Award 2024

On Tuesday 10 December, KES hosted the Award Ceremony for the Two Cities Book Award, now in its third year. This initiative is a joint venture between the KES library and Wolverhampton Grammar School library, supported by Authors Aloud UK.
