Goodnight Mister Tom

a picture of a drama performance

The Drama departments across both KES and KEHS wowed once again with the Junior Production of ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’. It was wonderful to be able to host 30 children from a partner primary school to watch the performance of the first Matinee performance.

The visiting primary teacher shared her thoughts: “WOW, WOW, WOW!! Wednesday’s performance of Goodnight Mr Tom was amazing! From the characters and acting, lighting, sound, costume designs and stage props were just spot on, so real! I have no words! We have no words!

We at St-Matthew’s are so grateful for this opportunity, thank you for inviting us to come and watch such a brilliant performance. Not only did the children enjoy the production but myself and my colleagues were amazed at how talented the children are at KES. Looking forward to many more visits. Thank you once again.”

Tolkien Lecture: Cricket as Business, Culture and Entertainment

On Tuesday 28 April, the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre was the venue for the second Tolkien Lecture since the series resumed following its pause due to the pandemic. It was a pleasure to continue this much anticipated programme of talks, named in honour of one of the most distinguished alumni of King Edward’s School, J. R. R. Tolkien.
