At KES, we prioritise the well-being of our students and strive to provide a nurturing environment for their personal growth.
Our pastoral structure network comprises dedicated individuals who are always ready to listen and offer guidance. We understand the importance of accessible and compassionate care, and we are here to ensure that your son’s well-being is our top priority.
Form Tutors
Each boy at KES is a member of a form, and each day begins with form time led by a Form Tutor. Form Tutors are central to the pastoral life of the school and work closely with boys and their teaching staff to monitor academic progress and pastoral wellbeing. Concerns that staff might have about a boy will be shared with his Form Tutor, and Form Tutors are also the key point of contact for parents. All parents have opportunities to meet with Form Tutors throughout the year.
Heads of Year
Each year group also has a Head of Year, who has an overview of their year group and supports Form Tutors. Form Tutors meet regularly with their respective Heads of Year to review the attainment, effort and progress of all boys and to share any concerns about wellbeing.
Lower School and Middle School
The Lower School (Years 7, 8 and 9) and the Middle School (Years 10 and 11) are overseen by the Head of Lower School, Miss Sarah-Louise Jones, and the Head of Middle School, Miss Carolyn Bayley, respectively. The Heads of School are also part of the Safeguarding team.
Deputy Head (Pastoral)
Pastoral care, wellbeing and behaviour at KES is ultimately overseen by the Deputy Head (Pastoral), Dr Daniel Kennedy, who is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
