These are our volunteers who have given freely of their time to enable us to implement testing of our community using the Lateral Flow Devices supplied by the government.

We have now trialled our testing system amongst the volunteer pupils and members of staff in order to prepare ourselves for the potential gradual return to school sometime after March 8. We are maintaining our own Covid-19 register as well as uploading all of our results to NHS Test and Trace. Once registered via the NHS app, individuals will receive a text message revealing the outcome of their test.

All team members have had to complete certificated online training and they also attended an in house practical session which dealt with the proper use of PPE as well as how to process the test swabs accurately and in a safe manner, which minimises the chance of cross infection. Every part of the process, from arrival at the test area to departure, is run to strict protocols which are clearly displayed on each operators bench and I’m pleased to be able to report that we have yet to return a void result which might indicate an operator error – so well done everyone and keep up the good work.
