Help for Heroes fundraiser

Help for Heroes visual

Although this latest lockdown is proving to be a challenge for everyone, Help for Heroes is in particular need of assistance. This national charity helps fund and facilitate the recovery process of the men and women who have experienced physical or physiological wounds while serving in the armed forces.

As we are all locked in with a screen in front of us, it’s easy to become complacent and ignore our own mental and physical health. This is why we will be hosting our own event designed to promote exercise and raise sponsorship. This will involve working towards a 2.8km run, 45 sit-ups and 15 press ups. This set of exercises is an adaptation of the original army fitness test and will help us remain connected to the charity throughout the event. Some changes have been made to ensure it is doable without any extra equipment and we encourage all participants to be aware of your local lockdown rules while exercising. Although this may seem manageable for some and daunting for others, we invite you to take up the challenge and to push yourselves. As the hosts of this event, we plan on attempting this on a daily basis and will welcome anyone who would like to contribute, regardless of physical ability.

Please help by donating at KES Help for Heroes JustGiving where you can share your progress and compete with your friends.
