We were delighted to host the high-energy Model United Nations event, where pupils from KES and other schools came together to represent different countries in intense debates and negotiations on real-world issues. Hear what our pupils had to say about the experience:
On Saturday 21 March, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in Model United Nations as a delegate for Italy, and it was nothing short of unforgettable. The energy in the room was electric – from intense debates and strategic negotiations to drafting resolutions on real-world issues. Every speech, every motion, and every alliance made me feel like I was stepping into the shoes of a real diplomat. But MUN wasn’t just about debate – it was about the people, the friendships, and the experience as a whole. The atmosphere was inspiring, filled with passionate discussions, collaboration and the thrill of diplomacy in action. And of course, the slick suits added to the professionalism, making the entire event feel even more authentic.
Beyond sharpening my public speaking and critical thinking skills, MUN left me with incredible memories and a deep appreciation for diplomacy. It was an exhilarating experience, and I can’t wait to do it all over again!

The conflict in the Middle East has remained a crucial talking point in the last year and the delegates took this amazing opportunity to dig their teeth into this topic. Delegates of Italy, Israel, UAE, Netherlands and South Africa fought vigorously for their cause but ultimately the delegate of France powered through the committee with her ideas and her ability to get the entire committee to listen to them (a skill I am very jealous of).
Unsurprisingly with such a topic being discussed Israel was in the firing line but successfully managed to fend off the barrage against her and proved her strength in the committee. France’s resolution passed through the G.A., despite a few late votes against her, and the committee’s hard work paid off.
