Mr Simon Stacey

Mr Simon Stacey, much-loved Teacher of English, Head of Oxford and Cambridge Admissions and Debating Coach passed away on Thursday 19 May 2022 following a short illness. 

An inspiring teacher, he was an important influence on the lives of many of our pupils during his 26-year career at King Edward’s.

Simon’s knowledge of our School’s history and his passion to bring our archive alive will be greatly missed. 

All of the school community extends its deepest sympathy to Simon’s family.

Daniel has made an enormous contribution to school life at KES. A gifted all-rounder, he captained the First XV rugby team to the national finals at Twickenham, represented the school in water polo at national level, and took part in countless music concerts.

Having succeeded in the competition, we were then given the opportunity to partake in an online Q&A session with the ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano, which was a very interesting and useful experience, where we learned a lot about life as an astronaut, especially what it is really like to spend time on the ISS.
