Lockdown challenges

An integral part of life at KES is facing challenges and building the resilience over time required to experience failure and to try again. As such, each week the boys will be set new challenges by their peers or teachers, whether that is in a physical context, or perhaps learning a new creative skill.

This week two of our Sixths, Theo Mostert and Eashan Soma, have created a press-up challenge for all boys to have a go at on the KES Birmingham Sport Instagram page. Additionally, Mr Pavey has created some ‘WOWs’ (workouts of the week) that all boys can try. In the spirit of friendly competition, students are encouraged to share their own efforts. First on the leader board as things stand is our very own School Captain, Emil Ali.

Next week, our wellbeing focus will be on exercise and, as such, some of our students have designed a whole school challenge. Aran Bansal and his team of Fifths have designed a challenge 2.6 initiative aimed at encouraging all boys to take part in some physical activity for the whole week. Inspired by the innovative stories of athletes and fundraisers adapting to the cancellation of the London Marathon, the Fifths group have decided to design all challenges around the number 26, representing the length of the marathon. In addition to this, some of our students are undertaking a challenge for an entire month, covering 260 km throughout the month of May. More information can be found via Form Tutors or on the fundraising Firefly page.
