The return of almost every Division student this week has brought a glimpse of normality back to the school, with 30 or so boys on site at any one time. Boys are busy with science data collection for their IB Internal Assesements, and congratulations and gratitude go to all pupils working hard at home, with their parents encouraging. You’ve made the term a great success! The success is not restricted to the classroom, and this issue of KES Community is yet again packed with many of the special things our boys have done in the last week or so.
Agora Society continues to offer an unparalleled debating platform, recently discussing religion and Covid-19, and you will read about how they, and Engineering Society, have developed to meet the demands of online learning in this edition. Notable Old Edwardians continue to offer their support by leading talks with our current students. This week alone has seen University professors, a consultant in health economics, a consultant in sport and exercise medicine, and the involvement of more recent OEs Keshav Singh and Tushar Roy who were welcomed back to present in the Economics and Business Society.
There is no sign of slowing down to ease towards the end of term, as more activity begins. Wellbeing Week begins today with a host of initiatives to support our pupils’ health and wellbeing, while Sustainability Society promotes new ways of reducing emissions and protecting our environment. While face-to-face social connection remains elusive for some of us, we hope that this newsletter helps you to share the experiences of the boys in as real a way as possible.
