Music back in full swing!

a picture of students playing their instruments

Although live performances have been cancelled this term, we’re delighted that the show has been able to go on, albeit virtually.

The annual Miss Margaret Davis Memorial recital celebrates both the legacy of Miss Davis to music in these schools, and the generosity of all who have helped — in so many ways — to build and support our young musicians. Performers George Roberts, Jiali Lu, and Junias Wong, played double bass, flute, and violin respectively.

Margaret Cookhorn, principal contra-bassoon of CBSO, and the Frith Piano Quartet treated Shells to a wonderful afternoon of music in the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, playing Schubert’s ‘Trout’ Quintet.

Our first online Performers’ Platform of the year, featured works by Beethoven, Mozart, and Debussy
Peter Campbell-Kelly, CBSO leader and violinist, led and directed a 15-strong string ensemble rehearsal from the Fourths and Fifths
Come rain or shine, nothing stops the music department! Undeterred by the weather, our trumpeters rehearsed outside
The sound of music filled the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre as our Sixths took to the stage for their string orchestra rehearsal
Live instrumental lessons restarted
