Pupil selected for McKinsey Leadership Academy

a picture of Shoaib Aftab

Congratulations to Shoaib Aftab in Year 13 who has won a place on the prestigious McKinsey Leadership Academy. Shoaib, whose IB subjects include chemistry, biology and business management, will be joining the McKinsey programme shortly before he heads off to university to read medicine.

McKinsey & Company, established in 1926, is the world-famous management consultancy, based in New York, but operating globally. Its former employees include William Hague (who went on to become leader of the Conservative Party) and Sundar Pichai (the current CEO of Google).

The McKinsey Leadership Academy is a two-year programme of online meetings, in-person events, mentoring and networking opportunities, all designed to help those on the programme to develop their leadership skills and gain an invaluable insight into the field of management consulting.

Shoaib has a particular interest in health policy and he believes that his success in securing a place on the McKinsey Academy will give him insights that will help him play a part in shaping public policy in the field of medicine in the future.
