Top marks in the British Biology Challenge

Fourths pupil, Yanbo Yin, has been invited to a special Awards Ceremony after being placed in the top 40 out of 30,000 students that took part in the 2012 Biology Challenge.

The Biology Challenge is an online competition which is open to pupils in Year 9 or 10 (or equivalent) in Britain. The Challenge consists of two 30 minute papers on topics covered in most biology courses but rewarding students that have increased their own knowledge through extra-curricular learning.

The Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday 28th June at The Royal Society in London and will include a lecture by Professor Bruce Hood from the University of Bristol, whom will also be presenting the prizes.

Congratulations to all of the boys who took part in the competition, particularly Yanbo for being placed in the top 40 out of 30,000!

What unfolded was less of a formal argument and more of a theatrical masterpiece – complete with flying chocolate, wild accusations and a speaker who somehow turned it into a human rights campaign for sugar.
