Jonathan Coe returns to King Edward’s School

Bestselling author and Old Edwardian (1979) Jonathan Coe will be returning to King Edward’s School on Thursday 9 February, for a conversation with Professor Philip Horne, Department of English, University College London.

Discussing the novels Mr Wilder and Me (2021) and Bournville (2022), and the link between the two, the occasion promises an enthralling insight into the life of multi-Academy-Award-winning filmmaker Billy Wilder (The Lost WeekendThe Apartment, Sunset Boulevard) and 75 years of social change in Britain, as told through the story of a family living in the Birmingham suburb of Bournville, a few miles from where Jonathan was born. An audience Q&A will follow the discussion.

Tickets are free of charge and can be booked via the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre website.
