Sports Day at King Edward’s School, Birmingham on Saturday 25 June 2022.

At KES and KEHS, we are very fortunate to have outstanding sports facilities, including a swimming pool, athletic track and dedicated hockey astro.

We are pleased to be able to share these facilities with our local community at no cost through the below programmes. 

Hockey, tag rugby, tri-golf, netball, multi-sports and fundamentals of movement coaching 

We offer hockey, tag rugby, tri-golf, netball, multi-sports and fundamentals of movement coaching at our Southall Pavilion on Eastern Road to children in Years 4 or 5. Courses usually run over five or six mornings, but we can customise sessions if required. 

The children are coached in either one sport or a taster of two sports at each session. Participating schools must be able to transport their children to our sports facilities. The maximum number of children that can participate in a coaching session is 35.

Date: Autumn and spring terms on Monday and Friday mornings                   
Time: 10am-12pm

Foundation Cricket Programme 

We offer coaching in cricket at King Edward’s School, Eastern Road sports facilities to children in Years 4 or 5. Courses usually run over five mornings, but we can customise sessions if necessary. 

Participating schools must be able to transport their children to our Eastern Road sports facilities. The maximum number of children that can participate in a coaching session is 40. Where possible, the sessions will be staffed by KES staff; if this is not possible the sessions are staffed by Warwickshire Cricket Board staff, all of whom have been DBS-checked.

Date: Summer term on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings
Time: 10am-12pm

Dance, Netball or Football 

The maximum number of children that can participate in a Dance session is 20 and 30 for Netball or Football. 

Date: Friday afternoons from September 2023 to May 2024
Time: 2pm – 3pm

Swimming pool access 

We are delighted to offer primary schools the opportunity to access our fantastic swimming pools during specific times of the year. The maximum number of children that can participate in a swimming session is 30.

To make the most of this opportunity, schools need to arrange transportation for their children to our swimming pool and provide a qualified lifeguard.
